As part of the development of the Armed Forces’ communication system, new and modernised communications equipment and systems are being accepted for service and supply to the troops.

The Signals Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces together with enterprises of the State Authority for Military Industry actively works to create modern communications control rooms for military authorities, as well as in an armoured vehicle.

Thus, for the first time during the “Union Shield 2019” exercise, the Bogatyr-2 R-186B and Dragon R-186D combined communications equipment were used. According to the conducted research, this equipment made a good showing, providing modern communication services to the military leadership both on the ground and on the move, with a serviceability factor of at least 98%.

As part of the development of the National Satellite Communications and Broadcast System, along with the BELINTERSAT-1 satellite communication stations already in use, a line of Voskhod satellite communication stations has been developed and is being successfully used by the signals troops during various operational and combat training activities.

The 619th сommunications equipment maintenance, storage and disposal base, and the 2060th storage and repair base of the Air Force and Air Defence Forces make a significant contribution to equipping the signals troops with upgraded equipment.

High requirements to the process of troops control, as well as the objective necessity to introduce modern communication means, requires constant attention and improvement of the effectiveness of the process of training of highly professional military specialists for the signals troops.

Signals specialists are also trained on the basis of in Minsk, Borisov, Vitebsk, Grodno, Brest, Orsha and radio technicians in 619th сommunications equipment maintenance, storage and disposal base (Osipovichi). In all, over 1,000 radio telegraphers and over 125 radio masters were trained over these years.
