Ph.D. Degrees in the Belarusian Military

There are two types of Ph.D. degrees in Belarus: Candidate of Sciences and Doctor of Sciences.

In the Belarusian military, one can become Candidate of Sciences in the following academic institutions:

  • Belarusian Military Academy;
  • Research Institute of the Belarusian Armed Forces;
  • military medical department, Belarusian State Medical University.

The Belarusian Military Academy provides postgraduate study in the following fields:

  • radar systems (engineering);
  • operational art in general, as well as in different armed services and branches (military science);
  • general tactics, as well as tactics of different armed services and branches (military science);
  • system analysis, simulation of combat actions and military systems, as well as computer technologies in the military (engineering);
  • armament and military equipment (engineering);
  • maintenance and recovery of armament and military equipment, as well as technical support issues (engineering).

The Research Institute provides postgraduate study in the following fields:

  • radio and TV systems (engineering);
  • operational art in general, as well as in different armed services and branches (military science);
  • armament support theory, military-technical policy and armament support system (military science and engineering);
  • system analysis, simulation of combat actions and military systems, as well as computer technologies in the military (engineering).

The Belarusian State Medical University provides postgraduate study in one field — surgery (medicine).

To become Doctor of Sciences in the Belarusian military, one can apply to the following academic institutions:

  • Belarusian Military Academy;
  • Research Institute of the Belarusian Armed Forces.
