Main tasks of the NBC protection and Ecology Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces:

maintaining the NBC protection and ecology of the General Staff of the Armed Forces and subordinate military units at a level that ensures combat readiness

organising and conducting training activities of the NBC protection troops

organising training activities for the NBC protection and quality control of their implementation

carrying out scientific activities in the field of NBC protection

ensuring radiation safety and environmental control in the Armed Forces

preparation of draft legal acts of the Defence Ministry regulating the issues of NBC protection, ecology and radiation safety

cooperation with governmental and military authorities and other military formations on NBC protection issues

participation in international military and military-technical events on NBC protection and environmental protection issues

supplying the Armed Forces and territorial troops with armaments and means of NBC protection, control over their operation and maintenance in constant readiness for their use.
