Command-Staff Training Exercise Starts in Belarusian Armed Forces

On 14-20 September, a command-staff training exercise is held under the supervision of the Chief of the General Staff, First Deputy Defence Minister of Belarus under the Armed Forces 2015/2016 Training Plan.

The topic of the exercise is to train to command the Armed Forces and other military units during a special operation on stabilising the situation in separate crisis regions of the country. The main aim of the exercise is to train the command staff of the Armed Forces and other military units.

The exercise will consist of two stages. The first stage will be dedicated to establishing military units for carrying out the special operation. During the second stage the operation will be carried out in the field.

For the first time, all the participants of the drill will be accomplishing the assigned tasks at almost all firing ranges of the Armed Forces.

Units of the Interior Ministry, State Border Committee, State Security Committee, Investigative Committee, and Emergencies Ministry will also take part in the exercise; approximately 7,500 servicemen, 60 tanks, 220 armoured vehicles, and 50 artillery ordnance, mortar launchers and MLRSs will be involved.
