New Early-Warning Radar Enters Service with Belarusian Military

The Protivnik 3D medium- and high-altitude radar has entered service with a SIGINT unit of the Belarusian Air Force and Air Defence.

The mobile radar is designed to detect and track strategic and tactical aircraft, aircraft missiles, ballistic targets and small low-speed aircraft in jamming environment, as well as to transmit radar data to automation systems of command posts.

The radar will significantly increase the combat capabilities of the SIGINT troops. It will be possible to detect and track ballistic targets, increase the detection range, improve the mobility, as well as reduce the cost of operating the radar due to the cutting-edge technology incorporated into the system.

The radar is a highly automated system with a high resolution capability. It does not require adjustments and settings during operation and has an automated monitoring and troubleshooting system.

A small number of transport units and an automated antenna elevation system enable rapid deployment/displacement on an unprepared site within 30 minutes.

The radar provides a comfortable working environment for an operator due to an effective life support system with air conditioning, reduced level of noise and electromagnetic radiation at operator workstations, as well as simulation and training systems.

Due to the combination of parameters (detection range, coordinate measuring accuracy, jamming immunity, mobility and cost), the Protivnik radar is significantly superior to other similar systems.
