Representatives of Verification Centres from 26 Countries to Visit Belarusian Military Units

On 24-25 May, representatives of OSCE member states will visit the 116 Guards Ground Attack Airbase, Air Force and Air Defence and 103 Guards Independent Mobile Brigade, Special Operations Forces under the 2011 Vienna Document on Confidence- and Security-Building Measures.

The event will involve 49 representatives from 26 countries (Belgium, Canada, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Ukraine, the United States).

The participants will be informed about the function and actual activity of the military units, as well as familiarise themselves with the main examples of weapons and military equipment.

Similar events are held by each OSCE member state once every five years.

On 23 May, representatives of the Defence Ministry will hold a series of briefings for the participants on Belarusian defence policy, structure and tasks of the Belarusian Armed Forces, as well as key lines of the Armed Forces’ development.
