Defence Minister Continues His Visit to Serbia

Belarusian Defence Minister Lt. Gen. Andrei Ravkov continues his official visit to Serbia. On the first day of the visit, he met with his Serbian counterpart Bratislav Gasic.

The parties confirmed their mutual interest in further development of cooperation on a wide range of areas, such as military education, preparation for participation in peacekeeping missions, training of special operations units, military medicine and other aspects of providing support for troops in carrying out their tasks.

At the end of the talks, the heads of the delegations signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Belarusian and Serbian defence ministries on cooperation in military science and education.

Aimed at the development of bilateral military cooperation between military schools and other educational and scientific institutions, the memorandum provides for exchange of experience, educational and scientific materials, teaching staff and students, as well as joint participation in conferences, courses and internships.

Lt. Gen. Andrei Ravkov also had meetings with Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and Chairperson of the Defence and Internal Affairs Committee of the Serbian National Assembly Marija Obradovic.
