Arms Control Issues
From 16 to 19 June, a Portuguese inspection group visited the 19th Independent Mechanised Brigade, which is subject to control under the Conventional Armed Forces in Europe (CFE) Treaty.
The aim of the inspection was to prove that the actual amount of the materiel limited by the treaty corresponds to the declared data.
The inspection group included four military inspectors from Portugal, two inspectors from Italy and one inspector from Norway, Germany and the Czech Republic each.
