Arms Control Issues

From 8 to 12 December, a Ukrainian inspection group headed by Col. Igor Turansky will verify a specified area in Belarus and visit the 38th Guards Independent Mobile Brigade under the Agreement on Additional Confidence- and Security-Building Measures between Belarus and Ukraine.

The aim of the inspection is to prove that no military activity subject to preliminary notification under the Agreement is conducted in the specified area, as well as to evaluate the reliability of the information on the personnel and materiel of the verified unit, presented by Belarus to the OSCE member states under the 2011 Vienna Document.
