International Military Cooperation Issues

On 4 September 2020, the Belarusian Defence Minister Maj. Gen. Viktor Khrenin will visit Moscow in order to participate in a joint meeting of the defence ministers of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) and Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO).

Within the framework of the meeting, the head of the Belarusian defence department will make a report: “On international and regional security, consolidation of efforts to prevent the threat of the outbreak of wars and armed conflicts, further military cooperation strengthening in modern conditions”.

The participation of the Belarusian Defence Minister in this event will confirm the adherence of the Republic of Belarus to its commitments within the framework of international organisations, as well as contribute to further gradual development of military cooperation, taking into account national interests and priorities.
