Accreditation Meeting with the Defence Attaché at the Embassy of the French Republic

A meeting with Brigadier General Jérôme Mallard was held at the International Military Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Defence on the occasion of the completion of his accreditation as Defence Attaché at the Embassy of the French Republic to the Republic of Belarus (resident in Moscow).

During the meeting, the participants exchanged views on topical issues of international security, as well as on the current military and political situation in Eastern Europe.

The Belarusian side assessed the state of bilateral cooperation, outlined its vision for further joint work, and informed the French military representative about its strategy for developing military cooperation with foreign states, primarily in the Western direction*.

The French military diplomat expressed his gratitude to the Defence Ministry of the Republic of Belarus for its readiness for dialogue and for the substantive discussion. He also noted the openness of the Belarusian colleagues.

*As of today, military representatives from ten NATO member states, as well as Switzerland, are accredited to the Belarusian Defence Ministry.
