On the media coverage of joint strategic Belarusian-Russian military exercises “Zapad 2017” and facilitation of information dissemination among the mass media organizations

Press releases, relevant photo and video materials from the exercises will be published on the official website of the Ministry of Defense (www.mil.by) of the Republic of Belarus, specialized website “Exercises “Zapad 2017”(http://exercise.mil.by) and on the internet-portal of the TV company “VoenTV” (http://voentv.mil.by) on a day-to-day basis.

Journalists may obtain photo and video information in short order and free of charge.

From September, 14 briefings of the Official Representative of the Ministry of Defense will be held daily for accredited journalists at 6.30 pm at the Press Center of the news agency “Vayar” (Maksima Bogdanovicha street, 29) Briefings will cover the results of each day of military maneuvers.

During the active phase of the exercises (September, 17 to September, 19), mass media representatives will have an opportunity to visit practice grounds where the military exercises will take place.

On September, 17 air strike with the usage of air-launched weapons will be trained at the practice ground “Ruzhansky”. The maximum amount of journalists allowed at the event is 40.

On September, 18 position-holding combat will be trained at the firing range “Osipovichsky”. The maximum amount of journalists allowed at the event is 40.

On September, 19 combat alert of air defense units will be trained at the firing range “Domanovo”. The maximum amount of journalists allowed at the event is 40.

Taking into account the capacity of practice grounds, safety requirements and necessity to grant access to the coverage of the exercises for as many journalists as possible, the formation of the list of journalists accredited at the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus will be organized according to the principle “first one to submit application is included” (“first come first served”). Each mass media organization can be represented by maximum two journalists.
