Belarusian Military Depart for Russia to Participate in CSTO Exercise Vzaimodeistviye 2016

On 13 August, Belarusian military left for Russia to take part in the command post exercise Vzaimodeistviye 2016 involving military units of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Force (CRRF).

The exercise will be held from 14 to 19 August at the 714th central range of the Russian Airborne Troops.

Belarus will be represented by the Belarusian Defence Ministry operational group, officers included in the CRRF Command, units of the 103rd Independent Airborne Brigade (Special Operations Forces) assigned to the CSTO CRRF.

The exercise will consist of three stages.

An operational session with the CRRF Command will be held during the first (preparatory) stage.

During the second stage the participants will address issues of decision-making and joint operations planning, organising interaction and comprehensive support and control, as well as training of the CRRF units to perform assigned tasks.

During the final third stage the participants will be trained to exercise command and control over the CRRF in localising armed conflicts and eliminating illegal armed groups.

The exercise will also involve military units from Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
