Bilateral Military Cooperation Issues

On 2 August, Chief of the International Military Cooperation Department, Assistant to the Defence Minister for Foreign Military Policy Maj. Gen. Oleg Voinov met with Italian Chargé d’Affaires Ad Interim to Belarus Paolo Tonini and Italian Defence Attaché to Russia and Belarus Brigadier General Massimo Fogari.

The parties discussed the state and prospects for bilateral military cooperation, as well as widening the participation of Belarus in the UN peacekeeping operations.

At the end of the meeting, Italian representatives awarded Lieutenant Colonel of Medical Service Vyacheslav Podolsky, who has been more than once assigned to the UN Interim Force in Lebanon, the Commemorative Cross for the Peacekeeping Mission in Lebanon.
