AFAD Units Brought to Readiness During Armed Forces Inspection

A comprehensive inspection is underway in the Belarusian Armed Forces.

Three mechanised battalions and three mobile battalions have been deployed to firing ranges to perform training missions.

Since 20 January, a number of Air Force and Air Defence (AFAD) units have been brought to readiness to perform assigned missions.

According to the plan, it is decided to enhance the Air Defence force with S-300, Buk and Tor air defence missile battalions.

The aircraft will be redeployed at airfields Baranovichi, Machulishchi, Bobruisk, Luninets and Borovtsy.

The 38th Independent Mobile Brigade, which will shortly be manned with more than 400 men liable for military service, is put on combat alert. Subsequently, the brigade at full strength will begin to carry out training missions in designated areas.

Mobile battalions of the brigade perform the task of strengthening the state border security, acting jointly with the Border Service at temporary border posts, as well as the task of blocking and liquidating sabotage groups in designated areas.

During the next few days units of the 103rd Independent Mobile Brigade will perform a training mission to defeat an illegal armed group in the Vitebsk region.

The 19th Independent Mechanised Brigade, North-Western Operational Command, Belarusian Army, was brought to readiness. Units of the 6th, 11th and 120th Independent Mechanised Brigades conduct activities to build unit cohesion and prepare for tactical live fire exercises.

The Armed Forces inspection is a planned operational and combat training activity. The aim of the inspection is to evaluate the readiness and capabilities of military units to fulfil tasks.
