CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Force Starts Snap Combat Readiness Check

A snap combat readiness check of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Force units’ combat readiness began on 12 May in accordance with the resolution of the CSTO Collective Security Council.

In the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Force Belarus is represented by the 103rd Guards Independent Mobile Brigade of special operations forces, from which a mobile reinforced company is involved in the readiness check.

The unit will be airlifted to the area of the exercise (Tajikistan), where the Belarusian service members will carry out training missions together with the military of other CSTO member states (Armenia, Kazakhstan Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan). A total of 100 Belarusian service members and 15 vehicles will be involved in the combat readiness check.

Belarusian Armed Forces units that are part of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Force participate in joint operational and combat training events every year. In particular, the Vzaimodeistviye 2013 exercise of the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Force was held at the Osipovichsky range in September 2013. In 2014 the Belarusian military participated in a similar exercise in Kazakhstan.
